ORIGINAL POST
Authorities responded to reports of shots being fired at Super Lube near the Eastway Drive and Central Avenue intersection.

Sources say around 1PM there was an altercation inside and shots were fired. Medic and SWAT arrived to the scene and discovered that the business was locked. The situation has been cleared yet no one is in custody.

Traffic is heavy in that area so motorists are encouraged to use extra caution.

Business is back to usual Friday afternoon after a nearly 2 hour standoff on the 2900 block Eastway Drive, near Central avenue.

Police say the original call came in as a deadly weapon call where shots were fired at a local business.

Investigators with CMPD say that business was the Speedy Lube.

Once police arrived, they said it was locked so officers cleared the area and closed Eastway Drive and Central Avenue.

SWAT team negotiators arrived on scene.

The store employee eventually unlocked the store.

Originally, investigators thought there could be potential hostages at the store.

No one was injured during the situation.

Police say a store employee fired a rifle in front of the business.

Merry Oaks Elementary School was placed on lock down.

No word on if any charges will be filed.

This is an ongoing investigation with potential charges pending.
