GOODYEAR, Ariz. - A suspect possibly responsible for two crimes died after being shot by an officer near Litchfield and Interstate 10 on Wednesday.

Maricopa County Sheriff's Lt. Brandon Jones says the suspect, identified as Jesus Chacon, 26, was wanted in connection to a burglary and was a person of interest after Mark Meginley's body was found last week in Buckeye.

Undercover officers had reportedly been watching the suspect and wanted to speak to him.

Jones says when officers approached Chacon, he pulled out a weapon and officers fired at him.

The suspect later died at a hospital.

No deputies were injured.

The incident reportedly happened at a Circle K in the area.
