FOXe: DPS students celebrate Earth Day learning about recycling

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT (WJBK) - Hundreds of students at Detroit Public schools celebrate Earth Day with a special focus on recycling.

The nonprofit group Green Living Science teaches students about recycling and the environment.

The students gathered for a special Earth Day celebration at Lincoln Street Art Park.

They practiced recycling with their own lunches and toured the facility to see where recycled items go. They also made recycled birdfeeders and bags, and planted seeds.

The students explain to FOX 2's Robin Schwartz what Earth Day means to them in this Earth Day edition of the FOXe Report.
