The make shift memorial still sits where two children were struck by a delivery truck more than two years ago.

But construction started today to add a sidewalk on West Tyvola Road. Since the accident, CDOT pushed the creation of the sidewalk up on their priority list.

This comes at a time when this neighborhood has been pushing for some tweeks. They recently fought to have street lamps installed, and won. And though the sidewalk is a start, neighbors say speed bumps and caution signs need to be added to a street that constantly holds high traffic and speeding cars.

Construction will continue through the week. West Tyvola will be closed from West Boulevard to Old Steele Creek Road until Friday at 5 p.m.
