Early Big Al injury hamstrings Bobcats upset attempt
Heat Beat Bobcats by 11, Take 1-0 Series Lead

Al Jefferson muddled through a plantar fascia strain to score 18 points and pull down 10 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to spur a Bobcats upset, as Charlotte lost to the Miami Heat Sunday afternoon, 99-88. The Heat take a 1-0 series lead.
Jefferson started the game tremendously well, hitting on 5 of his first 6 shots, and leading the Bobcats to an early 1st quarter lead. But late in the opening frame, Jefferson left the floor, and headed for the Bobcats locker room with a foot injury. He was seen on the bench taking off his shoe.
Jefferson would return. But he was not his ordinary self, ambling around the floor at a slower pace than usual.
He was still able to lead the Bobcats in scoring, and hit on 9 of his 17 shots. But it was evident that Big Al wasn't feeling his best.
Meanwhile, Lebron James and Dwyane Wade combined for 50 of the Heat's 99 points -- Lebron 27, Wade 23. James also pulled down 9 rebounds, while Wade dished out 5 assists.
The Heat hold a 1-0 edge in the series. Game 2 will be Wednesday night in Miami, at 7 p.m. Games 3 and 4 will be in Charlotte.
