COBB COUNTY, Ga. -

FOX 5 cameras were able to catch a glimpse of 'Steve': a goose wandering in northern Cobb County with an arrow through its head!

Cobb County authorities confirm that they have been dispatched to look for the animal and are working with state officials to aide the animal.

The bird has been spotted by multiple people in a wooded area not far from a school. Officials are trying to capture the animal but have been unsuccessful. Officers caution people against trying to capture it themselves.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources says "It is important to remember that Canada geese are a protected species under state and federal law. It is illegal to hunt, kill, sell, purchase or possess Canada geese except according to Georgia's migratory bird regulations."
