The surveillance video will have you shaking your head in disgust. It shows a woman coaching a young girl to steal a donation jar from the checkout counter.
The donations were meant for Mildred Diaz's 15-year-old, who suffers from Lupus.
"I hope she gets caught," Diaz told FOX 13. "I hope she gets caught because a lot of people have this. We are doing this for a reason. It's not like we are using the money for ourselves."
It happened Tuesday at the Bravo Supermarket in Plant City. The video shows the woman with a young girl at the checkout counter. The woman takes a good hard look at the donation jar, then she looks around the store to make sure no one's watching.
The woman even looks directly at the camera, and then she puts her plan into motion -- pulling the grocery cart back, she apparently instructs the child to put the jar in the basket after the checkout clerk walks away.
The little girl does, and the woman quickly begins to hide the jar with grocery bags.
Mildred says the jar had been there for months, so the collection was growing.
"She is not only stealing from my daughter, she's stealing from millions of people who have Lupus that count on donations," continued Diaz.
But despite having her daughter's donation money stolen, Diaz encourages people to attend a Lupus fundraiser to help others battling the disease. It's May 4 at Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa.
