Children Read Books to Dogs

Posted: Updated:
Volunteer organization, ‘Therapy Dogs International,’ has a program called ‘Tail Waggin’ Tutors’ to help children improve their reading skills.

The children involved in the program read booked to dogs because dogs won’t judge or poke fun if they make a mistake.

The child relaxes, pats the attentive dog, and focuses on the reading. Reading improves because the child is practicing the skill of reading, building self-esteem, and associating reading with something pleasant.”
