    Huntersville, NC-The Lake Norman Copperheads play in the Southern Collegiate Baseball League. It's a wooden bat league that helps players make the adjustment from using an aluminum bat at the plate. The team is made up of mostly college freshmen and sophomores. The summer baseball league is designed to help players prepare for baseball at the next level whether it's professionally or trying to secure a division one scholarship.The team plays 42 games during their two month season.

    Las Vegas, NV-The Charlotte Hornets lost to the New York Knicks 95-72 in their 3rd game of NBA Summer League. Cody Zeller and P.J. Hairston each had 18 points while Noah Vonleh chipped in with 13 points.

Atlanta-The Charlotte Bobcats beat the Atlanta Hawks 95-93 on a buzzer beater by Chris Douglas-Roberts.  The victory snaps the Bobcats 11-game losing streak to the Hawks.  Charlotte remains in the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference playoff race. The Bobcats trail Washington by one game for the sixth seed.  Charlotte will close out the regular season by hosting Chicago at 7:00 pm on Wednesday.
