    Huntersville, NC-The Lake Norman Copperheads play in the Southern Collegiate Baseball League. It's a wooden bat league that helps players make the adjustment from using an aluminum bat at the plate. The team is made up of mostly college freshmen and sophomores. The summer baseball league is designed to help players prepare for baseball at the next level whether it's professionally or trying to secure a division one scholarship.The team plays 42 games during their two month season.

CHARLOTTE - Charlotte-The Charlotte Knights shut out the Norfolk Tides 4-0 Sunday at BB&T BallPark.  Scott Carroll pitched seven scoreless innings, giving up three hits, a walk and two strikeouts, to improve to 3-0 on the season. The Knights (6-5) will host Durham at 7:05 pm on Monday.
