Charlotte RaceFest

Posted: Updated:
Charlotte, N.C. (WJZY) -- More than 1,000 people woke up bright and early Saturday morning.

They were running in the Charlotte RaceFest.

It didn't matter if you knew who was running, everyone cheered on folks crossing the finish line.

We met up with a lively bunch called the Black Girls Run.

"Team work makes the dream work. This is my accountablility partner right here. We have a motto with our group - Black Girls Run - no woman left behind.

We start together, we finish together. It's about getting women out of the house, getting them active. We're centered around running," said Lakesha Bennett and Crystal Blair.

This is Charlotte RaceFest's 13th year.

My Fox Carolinas was also at the race today. Share your pictures! @FOX46CAROLINAS
