One of Nations Top Preschools Focuses On Robots

Posted: Updated:

This week is National Robotics Week. The Goddard School in Rock Hill is fully embracing this theme with their young students.

“They are connecting everything. That’s the best part of this,” said teacher Shandy Manigualt. “They are making connections that cars can be robots and washing machines can be robots.”

The Goddard School focuses on learning through play.

They believe playing with technology and robots help develop STEM skills.

“The kids are so enthusiastic,” said The Goddard School owner, Amy Strickland. “They have interest in things and they aren’t intimidated by technology.”

The special robotics program at Goddard runs year round. But this week, it gets extra attention.

The entire week is filled with special technology activities, which culminate at the end of the week when the children build a robot made out of legos.

“They are loving it,” said Strickland

The Goddard School is one of the top preschools nationwide in promoting education through technology.
