Stanley of KISS explains anti-Semitic bandmate accusations

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - Paul Stanley of the legendary rock group KISS is out with a new book that's making headlines for accusations he's made about former band mates Ace Frehley and Peter Criss.

In 'Face The Music: A Life Exposed: Paul Stanley Good Morning,' the singer and guitarist tells the positive tale of finding success outside of the limelight, but he also delves into the hardships with some of the people closest to him.

"It's a very positive book. But people have to live with their actions and be responsible for what they've done. Both Ace Frehley and Peter Criss in numerous times made it clear that they were not that enamored with Jews or Judaism. It came out in every day interactions and things that were said or implied," said Stanley.

Frehley and Criss were among the founding members of the band which will be inducted into the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame later this week.

Gene Simmons is also not spared a jab in the book as Stanley describes him as wanting the attention for the band's success.

"Gene and I have been together for 44 years and that's a testament to how close we are. We are very frank with each other. We live down the street from each other. I didn't invite him to my wedding because at that point in his life he was very disrespectful towards the idea of marriage. I'm not poking at Gene but he's known to have a big mouth, I understand that but it's not a coincidence that the partnership is what made this work. The only consistency in this operation is that we've both been there," said Stanley.

But the core of the book is not about his conflicts with band mates but about finding happiness in family, good friends and children.

"I didn't have a right ear and I grew up in a family that was somewhat dysfunctional. The purpose of writing the book was to inspire people, that being famous doesn't get rid of your problems. Once you come to grips with the fact you have issues it's really a matter of how you deal with them and how you find happiness with family," said Stanley who grew up in Manhattan and drove a taxi for a time.

Stanley will be signing copies of 'Face The Music: A Life Exposed: Paul Stanley Good Morning,'  this week. He'll be at Barnes & Noble on Staten Island at 7 pm; and at Book Ends in Ridgewood, NJ at 6 pm on Wednesday.

Richie Sambora spent 30 years as the lead guitarist of rock band Bon Jovi. Nowadays, he's touring with Orianthi, the former lead guitarist for the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson. “We’ve been tearing it up. It’s been the improvisational thing. It’s a very exciting thing," said Sambora during Good Day New York. The New Jersey native from "a blue collar, working class family" missed home and watching his daughter grow.

Fruit packaged by the Wawona Packing Company out of Cutler, California and sold at stores across the country is being voluntarily recalled. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says there is a possibility the recalled products may be contaminated with listeria. No illnesses have been linked to the recall. Certain lots of peaches, nectarines, plums and pluots sold at Trader Joe's, Costco, Sam's Club and Fresh Direct could be contaminated with the dangerous food-borne pathogen.
