Coffee Pot: Teens Trade In Green For Beans

Posted: Updated:

The drug of choice for many Americans is caffeine.  Most people get their fix by drinking coffee or soft drinks, but some teens are getting roasted by smoking coffee beans.

Dr. Charles Bregier says, “It seems like it’s a big trend for teens to smoke whatever they can get their hands on.”

Teens always seem to be up to some sort of high jinks, but smoking coffee could be a dangerous choice.

“After you get passed the 200 milligram level or 300 milligrams of caffeine ingested you can start getting some significant problems.  It can cause seizures, can cause headaches, or really irregular heartbeats.  People can pass out.  You can even die from it,” says Dr. Bregier.

Teens have been doing stupid things for generations, but nowadays, they post their foolish activities to social media, like smoking coffee.  YouTube has started removing such videos.
