I got so sick of the Canadian cold, I moved down to Charlotte just to avoid the snow. And of course to join the My Fox Carolinas family as a Digital Journalist. I grew up in Calgary (think the Houston of Canada) and after graduating from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Journalism, I moved to Toronto to cover sports; which in Canada means hockey.

Charlotte, NC - North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory spoke to the media today in person for the first time since former Mayor Patrick Cannon's arrest.
McCrory called Wednesday's events tragic, but insisted he is determined to work with Mayor Pro Tem Michael Barnes and the rest of Charlotte's City Council to move the city forward. He was adamant that the city of Charlotte will "get through this".

Though most of his comments were positive, McCrory said his personal relationship with Cannon has been damaged.

According to the criminal complaint against Patrick Cannon, the former mayor mentioned his close personal ties to McCrory to an undercover FBI agent at some point.

When asked about this, McCrory was visibly emotional about the subject. He said the wound was too fresh for him to comment on it.
