Jon Dick Learns the Art of Crochet From the Best "Hookers" in Town

Posted: Updated:
Crochet is a French word meaning, “hook.”  It’s similar to knitting because you’re pulling loops through other loops, but the tools are a bit different, among other things.

The Charlotte Crocheters is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching yarn-related crafts.  They meet several times a month at a local burger joint and offer free crochet lessons to anyone willing to learn.  If you are a crochet master, or an avid knitter, you are welcome to join in on the fun as well.

There are a few veterans of the craft that usually attend, but among the pros are plenty of amateur "hookers."  Apparently, it’s easy to learn as long as you have a little patience.
