Will This Spring Snow Be Our Last?

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

It may officially be spring, but many people are waking up to a winter wonderland! These poor flowers must be confused.

It was a pretty decent system that moved through. Some areas to the south and east of Philadelphia got a half foot or more of snow.

So, when will things warm back up? FOX 29's Sue Serio will keep you updated all morning long on "Weather on the 1's."

There is a speed restriction this morning on the Atlantic City Expressway. The speed limit is down to 35 mph due to last night's snowy weather conditions.

Andthere are a couple of delayed school openings due to the snow.

But the snow is pretty much out of here by sunrise. We'llhave a few leftover flurries, with the bulk of the storm now up in New England.

We'll get to a high in the upper 30s today, but itwill feel a lot colder than that because of the winds, which will gust to maybe35 or 40 mph.

Wednesday's high will be 44 degrees, so it will still be kind of chilly. And then it warms up on Friday and Saturday. But it looks like both of them will be rainy days, at least on and off rain. The high will be 61 degrees Friday and 58 on Saturday.

On both of those days, the Phillies are at home for pre-season games against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Sunday's high will be 53 degrees. On Monday and Tuesday, at least, we're still in the upper 50s.

Did you realize last year we got 0.8 of an inch of snow on March 25th? It was adding to the total for the year.

Don't think we're finished with this, even though we have warmer temperatures in the forecast. We're not out of the woods yet.

On April 3-4, 1915, the city picked up 19.4 inches of snow! And the latest snowfall we've ever measured around here was a trace of snow on May 8, and that happened in both 1898 and 1947.
