If you live along Mallard Creek Church Road, you have seen many changes in the last few years. The I-485 extension project has been underway since 2010 and it's now in it's final portion in the Mallard Creek area. It's causing headaches for one family though.

Novant Health announced a $60 million dollar campaign this morning for what is says will be an “out-patient heart and vascular and cancer” center.

The new 150,000 square foot Novant Center will be built across the street from the Novant hospital. John M. Belk has donated $10 million dollars to the startup of the center.

There will be trials to conduct research, cardiac tests and heart clinics, a cancer urgent care center, and an infusion center.  The center will also include a rehabilitation and wellness center that will include yoga, physical therapy, nutrition information, speech, and patients will be able to receive massages.

Novant Health Executive Vice President, Jesse Cureton, said "this campaign will forever re-define the care and treatment of heart disease and cancer in this community."

Charlotte will have one of three cancer urgent care centers in the United States.

The project is estimated to cost a total of $100 million dollars.

There is no set date yet for the center to open.
