Atlanta Public Schools have released a statement following the attempted abduction of three local students.
The latest attempt was reported at Hope Hill Elementary School near the Old Fourth Ward on Thursday afternoon. These incidents have been reported four times since last week.
In the statement, a spokesperson from Atlanta Public Schools said:
"APS continues to work with APD to ensure the safety and security of our students. These incidents provide additional opportunities for our parents to talk to their children about personal safety in general and the importance of being alert for the safety of others. We urge parents, students and staff to call 911 immediately if they see anything suspicious or out of the ordinary. We also encourage parents to speak with their children about how to deal with strangers."
Also, the school system launched a safety campaign targeted toward student walkers and bus riders.
Authorities are now searching for three suspects/vehicles spotted during the abduction attempts.
