“About every two weeks, we go buy a rotisserie chicken from wherever it’s on sale. On that night we eat chicken breast with two veggies and a fruit,” says Julia. “The next afternoon is my favorite, because we make Carolina Chicken Chili, which is a recipe I helped my mom make up."

Quiet, downtown Fort Mill hasn’t been that quiet lately. Two major construction projects at the top of Main Street are thoroughly underway, causing some traffic at the corners of Main and Spring.

Apartments, called The Greens at Fort Mill, are set to be complete by June.

The complex will have 64 apartments. They will cost $850 to $1400 a month and will range from 741 to 1,317 square feet.

“I hear they will be nice,” said Fort Mill Barber Shop Owner Steve Caskey.

Across the street from the apartments is a 7,200 square foot space, also under construction, for three retailers to rent out.

“Downtown Fort Mill is ripe for growth and revitalization,” said developer David Buist.

They will be leasing out 3,600 square feet of retail space along with 35 parking spaces. There will be drive-thrus on both sides of the space. They couldn’t confirm who the tenants will be but they said one of them will be a restaurant.
