Charlotte, NC - Parents in Dilworth who wait for their kids to get off the bus from Dilworth Elementary tell Fox Carolinas that the stop is dangerous.

They said the bus stop has no sidewalks, and they have to wait in people's driveways for the bus.

They have contacted Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) asking for the bus to make an additional stop a block away, where there are sidewalks, and a four way stop intersection. They said they filled out an online form to facilitate the change.

The parents said they haven't heard back from CMS, and are concerned for their children's safety.

We reached out to Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools Wednesday. They called us back Thursday and said they will get in touch with the parents to work out a solution.

Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools says if parents are concerned about a particular bus stop, they can fill out a form on the CMS website to ask for a bus stop location change.

The Humane Society in Concord has seen 5-6 dogs die due to strangulation from their chains in recent months. Though the City of Kannapolis has not had any formal complaints of dogs chained for long periods of time,...
