Strong winds Wednesday caused a number of trees to fall around metro Atlanta.

Some of the downed trees brought down power lines, causing scattered power outages.

Jonathan Sieling says a falling tree narrowly missed his Northwest Atlanta business. He described what he saw, saying "We came running out and saw the power lines down.  They were glowing just white-hot, and the tree started to catch on fire."

The winds brought with them much colder temperatures, as well.

In Walton County, a giant oak tree dating back to the late 1800s was no match for the winds. Wayne Cox says he is glad it missing his house, barn and vehicles. He added that he will miss the oak, but says that once it is cut up, it will provide enough firewood for the entire county.

No injuries have been reported in connection with the falling trees.
