Posted: Updated:

The York County Sheriff's Office release dash cam video of an event that took place on February 25th when a sheriff's deputy shot and wounded a 70-year-old man.

Officer Terrence Knox pulled over 70 year-old Bobby Canipe for an expired tag.

Deputies say Canipe got out of the car and reached for his cane. Knox thought he was reaching for a gun and shot him multiple times.

Play the video taken from the dash cam to see what happened.  Fox 46 Digital Journalists Mary Quinn O'Connor attended a press conference held by the York County Sheriff's Office.

On Wednesday on myFOXCarolinas Primetime at 10 p.m., Cheryl Brayboy moderates a debate on whether police took appropriate action.
