Archith Seshadri

Posted: Updated:

Growing up in Australia, Archith became fascinated with the news after watching TV broadcasts of "Australia's Most Wanted" and 'Seven Nightly News." It gave him an appreciation for different cultures and searching for global perspective at a young age. As one of the only South Asian reporters in Charlotte, he's passionate about giving a voice to the voiceless and covering communities that are under served. He has covered the economic impacts of the booming Latino population in the Queen City and the expansion of the Hindu Center of Charlotte.

As a digital journalist, Archith shoots, writes and edits his own stories. He used his iPhone to report on the snowstorms that hit Charlotte and Atlanta. He was the only journalist to document a 500 mile bike ride to Washington D.C. as hundreds of local police officers cycled to the nation's capital for National Police Week. While in the nation's capital, Archith covered a local Charlotte vet who received a Medal of Honor by President Barack Obama and who was inducted into the Hall of Heroes at the Pentagon.

Prior to joining the Fox affiliate, he spent nearly 4 years as an anchor/reporter for the ABC affiliate (WJBF) in Augusta, GA where he launched the only weekend morning news broadcast: "Good Morning Augusta." Archith field anchored from The Masters, trained with US Marines in Parris Island, SC, covered 3 officer involved shootings and investigated the corruption at the Augusta Youth Development Campus. Before Augusta, Archith worked as a reporter/producer at the CBS affiliate (13wmaz) in Macon, GA, and interned at CNN's headquarters in Atlanta.

After he received his Masters degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech, he spent 6 years as a business consultant at Accenture and then made the transition into TV news. He serves on the board for the Asian American Journalists Association and Network of Indian Professionals. A classically trained singer/pianist and a singer-songwriter, his flair for music inspired him to start a music academy called "Studio!" From beauty pageants to fundraisers, he has served as a judge and emceed several events in the community. He's lived in India, German and Australia, and loves being a vegetarian.
