One child hospitalized after morning bus incident

Six children complained of injuries Tuesday morning after a Rowan County School bus was involved in an accident.

The accident occurred at approximately 10 a.m. on Woodleaf Road while the passengers were returning from a field trip.

Twenty- eight 4th graders and two teachers from Woodleaf Elementary were on the bus at the time.

One child was sent to the Novant Hospital per the parent’s request. He complained of neck pains.

He is currently still at the hospital.
