Winthrop Remembers Chase, Honors Kowalski Family

Posted: Updated:
On December 14th, 2012 twenty children and six faculty members were shot and killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, CT.

In the days and weeks that followed, there were many comments made publicly, crying out for change.  One of those comments came from Winthrop head basketball coach Pat Kelsey.

His impassioned speech made waves around the country, and affected many of the families involved in the massacre.

One of those families was the Kowalski family. Their 7-year-old son, Chase, was one of the twenty children that lost their life that day.

On Saturday, the Kowalski's visited Winthrop, and were honored by Coach Kelsey and the Eagles program.
