HICKORY, NC – If you are a gearhead, Hickory might be the city for you. Paramount Classic Cars serves as the area's baby boomer paradise.

"It's a museum slash sales lot," said Kennith Stewart, manager, Paramount Classic Cars. "We have about 147 cars here. We have some that we can sell and some are part of my owner's private collection. But, the majority of them are for sale."

The collection belongs to auto dealer Benny Yount.

"I wanted to go back and relive some of my earlier days," said Yount. "I started looking for some cars like I had growing up. And some of the cars I would have really liked to have but couldn't afford back then."

As his collection grew, Yount needed a place to store his vehicles and he found a vacant building that once housed a furniture factory. His collection now sits in this indoor showroom, but do not think these cars stay idle for long.

"I'll come and get some of these cars and drive them," he said, "When I have an opportunity to do that and the weather's nice."

Ultimately, Yount is an enthusiast who likes to enjoy his cars in this staggering collection. He also wants the general public to share in his passion.

"I didn't want to charge people," said Yount. "Let's let them come, look at it, see it. Hopefully, they appreciate it. We feel like we're sowing a good seed and, hopefully, we'll get a good return."
