Dressed to impress and ready to spend: thousands of CIAA basketball fans strolled the corridors of the Time Warner Cable Arena Thursday.

They hit the gallery of shops following Johnson C. Smith's big win against Bowie State University. As expected, vendors raked in the cash.

At the Aaron Reed Gallery of Art, scores of art aficionado’s savored the modern paintings draping the walls. Even the artist, Aaron Reed, joined the crowd to share insight into his craft.

At least 80 parties are scheduled for the weekend.

This is the ninth consecutive year Charlotte has served as the host city of the CIAA tournament. The event is estimated to have a 40 million dollar impact in Charlotte area - from the games, to the displays and parties.
