While serious competition is going on on the court, the party will be off the court.

This week thousands of people will flood the streets of Uptown for the CIAA Basketball Tournament.

People in the streets means customers in the seats.

Andrew Izrael is the lead bartender at Tanner’s right outside of Time Warner Cable Arena. Their restaurant has brought on more servers and bartenders to accommodate the large crowds.

Customers know they might be paying a little more for those drinks.

"Pricing is gonna be hot but yeah well be out there definitely," said one attendee.

That won’t keep party-goers in. Everyone from local celebrities to rapper Lil' Wayne will be in town.

And for those who aren’t traveling far, the CIAA tournament weekend is a refreshing taste of their own city.

"CIAA not only brings in alumni… but it brings in the curious cliental that wanna know what’s going on," said Izrael.

But it’s the fans that keep the tournament going. The games will run through March 1st.
