The Mecklenburg County’s District Attorney’s office is working with Pat’s Place, a child advocacy group in Charlotte to transform one of their waiting rooms for children. Having to testify can be a daunting and overwhelming experience for anyone. Imagine what it might feel like for a child, whether they’re a victim or a witness to a crime.

The victim was hit multiple times in the driveway in June 2008.

It happened shortly after midnight on Saturday June 4, 2008. Jacques Timbers was driving to a house located on 6203 Forrest Pond Drive when he was fatally shot outside. He pulled up to the driveway with a friend Issac Rodriquez.

Detective David Phillips with the CMPD Cole Case Unit says the victim this case has missing clues preventing it to be cleared.

“The victim shortly there after called the person living in the house on Forrest Pond to let them know he was outside and request to unlock the door and let him in. Prior to this individual going to the door to unlock it, a vehicle passed by the residence and started firing at the victim in the drive way,” Phillips said.

The victim was hit multiple times in the driveway. Several people were inside the house. There were multiple rounds that hit the house and damaged the property. Two of those shots took Jacques’ life.

“What we believe probably or most likely happened is either this stemmed from an earlier altercation involving the victim of Mr. Rodriquez or on one of these trips that evening or when they left there may have been an altercation where somebody followed them back to this address,” Phillips said.

There’s no indication that anything happened inside the house that night to have caused this homicide to occur. A white vehicle was last seen leaving the neighborhood at a high rate of speed.

Issac Rodriquez, who was present that night and also a victim, was murdered in 2011 in an unrelated case. The unit wants any leads or clues to help solve this homicide. If you have any information to help solve this case, please call the Cold Case hotline at 704-336-2358.
