Cops: Grays Ferry Robbery Suspects Notice, Disable Security Cameras

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Police are searching for two robbery suspects who couldn't quite outsmart a Grays Ferry homeowner's security system.

The robbery on the 2000 block of South Etting Street was caught on camera from several angles back on Jan. 27 around 6 p.m.

The duo forced their way inside and burglarized a home, police say. After rummaging through and taking an undetermined amount of cash, one of the suspects suddenly notices a security camera and proceeds to disable it, security camera shows.

Unknown to the robbers, they were still recorded by other cameras in the house, and their faces were already completely visible on several of the recordings prior.

One suspect appears to be wearing camouflage pants in the video, police say. Both sported simple cloth disguising half of their faces and wore gloves.

If anyone has information on this crime, the Philadelphia Police urge a call to 215-686-TIPS (8477) or a text to PPD TIP (773847).

Police recommend against approaching the suspects, saying to call 9-1-1 instead if you see the suspects.
