Man Tries To Register Dog For Irving Mayoral Race

Posted: Updated:

It seems that politics in Texas is really going to the dogs! Mike Howard, fed up with the state of politics in the town of Irving, puts his dog, "Dylan Westie" on the ballot for the upcoming mayoral race.

"He doesn't do a very good job at typing, but you'll find he has some real good tweets out there," said Howard.

Howard is said to have submitted all the necessary forms and has even created a Twitter account in Dylan's name.

"You have two factions on the council, and it just doesn't seem like a lot of good things are getting done that need to be done," Howard continued. "And what better than K-9 blood. Who doesn't like a nice pretty cute dog."

Unfortunately, it looks like Dylan may be locked out of the race, as the city council says that every candidate must be a registered voter.

"What do you think about water conservation?" Howard asks Dylan.
