'Rabbit Island' Video Prompts Flurry Of Hilarious Comments

Posted: Updated:

Get ready for adorable overload. A video from YouTube that was posted on reddit captures the allure of a place called "Rabbit Island."

You can see a girl scampering away as many dozens of rabbits hop along by her side. She carries a bag of snacks, and shakes it to get the rabbits' attention.

Once she stops, some of them even sit by her feet, waiting patiently for her to drop some of her snack on the ground.

This video takes place in Japan in a place called Okunoshima Island. During World War II, eight rabbits were brought to the island to test mustard gas, and well, you can see what happened.

This video has prompted many references to the infamous "Holy Hand Grenade" scene in the smash hit Monty Python and The Holy Grail.

Reader Steve O. quotes, "‘Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest though thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe.'"

Similarly, comments on YouTube have made Easter jokes.

Mary Tee writes, "East is 4/20…these rabbits are auditioning."

Bill H asks, "Easter Island?"

Looks like people beyond the Philadelphia area are thinking about spring too.
