Local authorities have arrested and charged two men they say were involved in a series of armed robberies in Union and Mecklenburg counties. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have connected Jonathan Shaird and DaShawn Hunt with a string of robberies at fast food restaurants from October through February.

Most of the robberies occurred in Charlotte at fast food chains like Wendy’s, McDonalds and Taco Bell.

The latest robbery police connected the two with occurred at Fire House Subs in Indian Trail on Feb. 6. A 911 call reporting a suspicious vehicle resulted in a chase that led to a crash and a foot chase, with police eventually catching the suspects.

Hunt has been charged with the robbery that occurred at the Cookout on January 13, 2014 on Sardis Road North. He is in custody at the Union County Sheriff’s Office while Shaird is being held by Mecklenburg County officials.
