Neighbors Wonder Why 82 Year-Old Was Murdered

Posted: Updated:

It’s a quiet day in Torrey Pines Court – more of a normal day for the community. There are a few cars coming in and out of the neighborhood, but that’s about it.

“There’s not a lot of traffic in and out of here,” said resident Warren Turnipseed. “Most of the residents are older.”

It’s a much different scene than Tuesday – when police and emergency crews covered the area after 82 year-old Ina Feldman was found murdered in her home. Police say Feldman’s son found her and called 911 around 9:30 Tuesday morning.

Neighbors say they are scared and confused.

“We’re not hearing anything,” said a neighbor. “The paper says nothing, the police say nothing, so you’re just wondering what really happened.”

It’s the lack of information that really has people concerned.

“Was it a home invasion? Was it a random act? Or was it more domestic related? I think that is kind of an important piece to find out because there is a big difference,” said Turnipseed.

Police are patrolling the area, looking for anything unusual and to help neighbors feel safe.
