Governor's Reward Available For Info On 2007 Murder

Kellie Owens was just thirty years old when she got murdered in her apartment on December 27, 2007. Her mother, Linda Owens, received a phone call at 10:30 AM.

"Someone came to the apartment and apparently killed my daughter. They murdered her in cold blood with her little daughter inside sleeping in the other room,” Owens said.

Her daughter was shot in the bathroom, while her two year old was in the crib crying. It happened on Meadow Vista Road in the University Area.

Linda has been working with the CMPD cold case unit to help solve this case. The case has received a governor's reward for $5,000.

Criteria for the reward is the following:

· Case must still be under investigation.

· All the leads have been exhausted

· The victim was a good citizen.

This is in addition to the crime stoppers reward for $5,000.

“If anybody knows anything, come forward,” Owens said. “Don't be afraid to speak out. You don't have to use your name. You can just call the crime stoppers.”
