A new Sam’s Club, the first in Iredell County, opened up in Mooresville on Thursday. Needless to say, it’s a big thing for the local community.
Of the 160 employees hired - 135 of them are local.
Another large part of this Sam's Club are local vendors like Betty Bradley - who set up shop for the grand opening.
“It’s wonderful to have local products,” Bradley said. “People are very interested in local products."
For example, just down the road in Columbia SC - a cocktail sauce with a catchy name was born. Mary Sparrow and her son came up with a spicy cocktail sauce that is being sold in the store.
"About four years ago we started bottling, and he named it after his mother affectionately - mother shucker,” she said.”
"This gorgeous store - the emphasis they put on local products is great for people like me who are just getting started."
Word is spreading fast - and now employees and customers are celebrating a new staple store calling Mooresville home.
