Governor Deal speaks at Georgia March For Life

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA, Ga. -

Governor Nathan Deal declared Jan. 22 to be "Respect For Human Life Day."

The proclamation was made on Wednesday at Georgia March For Life - an event sponsored by Georgia Right To Life.

Deal touched on several topics,  the main ones being life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Deal said he was honored to be given the chance to sign the legislation that represents the state of Georgia and its position, which he says is one of the strongest positions any state can boast of in this country.

The event began on the steps of the Capitol and ended with a one-mile silent march through downtown Atlanta.
