Charlotte Douglas International Airport says that 2013 may have topped 2012's record-breaking traffic numbers. Recent data shows passenger traffic rose five percent from January – November 2013. The airport welcomed 39.70 million travelers during that time period, compared to 37.84 million passengers from January – November 2012.
Operations experienced a one percent jump, overseeing 511,272 landings and departures from January through November 2013 compared to 506,676 aircraft movements during that same time span the previous year.
CLT made history in 2012 greeting 41.23 million passengers and handling 552,093 operations. If December numbers mimic the upward swing, CLT will make history again in 2013.
Cargo activity also had a slight bounce, climbing two percent from 115,766 tons (January – November 2012) to 118,506 tons (January – November 2013).
