'Baby talk' helps baby's development

Posted: Updated:

It can be a tough choice for new parents -- should we talk to babies like adults or should we coo at them with so called "baby-talk?"

A new study from the University of Maryland found that parents who use baby talk with their babies instead of speaking in regular tones and words are actually helping, not hurting, their baby's development.

The study suggests that the use of baby talk encourages babies to pay attention and thus learn more easily.
