Panthers’ fan Renee King is ready for Sunday.
"Super excited about the Panthers. I cannot believe we came this far. I've been a Panthers fan since the beginning of time and I'm excited to see us go all the way. Hopefully we knock them out of the box this weekend."
Local businesses are hoping for the same. The playoff game is expected to bring thousands of dollars to Charlotte’s economy. Hickory Tavern, in Uptown Charlotte, is gearing up for big crowds. Assistant Manager, Matthew Shoppe is excited.
"We're going to be busy pre-game, post-game, during the game, so yes, we're definitely anticipating a large influx of people coming into the Charlotte area, um yeah, so we're prepared, you know staff and product, to just be busy all weekend long."
Hotels are already full of fans. DoubleTree General Manager, Bill DeLoache, says they are seeing the boost already.
"This weekend is all about the Panthers. Um, the excitement both internally and with our guests is huge. With, um the weekend would have been very soft had we not had the playoff game. We're very fortunate and the economy will definitely be greatly benefited, our restaurants, our hotels, and all of the support businesses are going to do very well this weekend."
It’s a victory for the Carolinas, but Panthers’ fans will have to wait until Sunday for the big win.
