Charlotte Beats NC A&T Behind Big Second Half

Posted: Updated:
Charlotte, NC - The Charlotte 49ers used a 10-0 run in the second half to pull away from North Carolina A&T, for an 88-72 win, Saturday night.

Pierria Henry scored 23 points, logged 7 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the way for the 49ers.

Charlotte and A&T were tied at 40 at halftime, thanks to a big night from Bruce Beckford and Richaud Pack.

But Charlotte went on their run over a two minute span around the 11 minute mark of the second half. A Shawn Lester layup started the run, giving Charlotte a 57-51 lead. The 49ers got a pair of three pointers -- one from Lester, and one from Denzel Ingram -- in addition to a Lester dunk, to cap the 10-0 spurt.

Lester finished the night with 13 points -- 7 of which during that run.

Charlotte improves to 9-4 on the year. The 49ers are back on the court on Thursday night, at UTEP, as they start C-USA play.
