Duke Drops ACC Opener to Notre Dame

South Bend, IN - Jabari Parker shot 2-10 from the field, scored just 7 points, and sat for the final 3:35 of No. 7 Duke's 79-77 loss to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, in the ACC opener.

Notre Dame started their inaugural ACC season at 1-0, thanks to 19 points and 11 assists from Eric Atkins. The Fighting Irish point guard shot 7-13 from the field, and had an assist-to-turnover ratio of better than 5:1.

Duke's loss drops them to 11-3 overall, and 0-1 in the ACC.

The Blue Devils had an opportunity to pull out the win -- or at least force overtime -- down 77-75 with under 15 seconds to play. But a Rodney Hood turnover sealed Duke's fate, as Notre Dame made free throws down the stretch to ice the game.

Duke is back in action on Tuesday against Georgia Tech, at 7 p.m.
