Fans “UnDeck The Halls” at NASCAR Hall of Fame

Ready, set, start those engines!  That was the theme at this morning’s “UnDeck the Halls,” at the NASCAR Hall of Fame here in Charlotte.

Fans began lining up at 6 am for their chance to get a free item off one of the trees within 45 seconds. The NASCAR Hall of Fame holiday tradition is in its fourth year.

Up for grabs? Two Daytona 500 tickets, tickets to the Martinsville race, hats signed by Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Danica Patrick, a Richard Petty signed jacket, and many other items.

John and Alice Findore were one of the first ones in line.  They found the Daytona 500 tickets hidden in the tree.

“We have not ever been to Daytona.  This will be our first trip down there,” said Alice.

One of the youngest NASCAR fans was Alex Garcia.  He is in elementary school but has big dreams to be a NASCAR driver and radio announcer. He never misses these events.  The drivers know him from the Q & A sessions where he asks questions.  He picked up a die-cast car to add to his collection.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame ‘UnDeck the Halls” ends when the last item comes off the tree.
