Tim Roney has a passion for dogs. Specifically for aging and special needs dogs.
"They are always the ones overlooked and the first ones to get euthanized at animal control facilities," Roney said.
So with that in mind, Roney and his wife, Lisa, created "Hope For All Dogs". The organization rescues dogs from high-kill shelters. Right now, he has 21 dogs.
"When they first come in, they're hungry, they're not fed regularly, a lot of them have skin issues, their regular parasite infestations, and we end up taking care of all that and you know you slowly see that nursing back to life and the dogs' spirit brightens."
Roney's goal is to find each dog a long-term home. He is trying to make these nurturing friends have a wonderful Christmas by getting each dog their own stocking.
"The intention is to fill it with a toy, some treats, and supporting a month long of heartworm preventive so that way, the dogs at least have something on Christmas Day to brighten their spirits."
Pino has his own stocking in his home. He was adopted by the Anderson family last month.
Pino had a rough past. He suffered a broken leg. He was rescued by "Hope For All Dogs". When DeAnna Anderson saw him, she knew she could provide him a happy life.
"This is my first rescue dog, I've ever adopted. This is my first and I'll say it won't be my last," Anderson said.
Anderson said adopting a dog was the right choice for her family, and it can be for many others.
"The thing about getting a rescue dog, everytime you look at that dog, it's excited and happy and enjoying life in the home and playing,” she said. “You know, I made this dog's life better."
