Little by little, the transition from the Bobcats to the Hornets is starting to take shape for Charlotte’s NBA franchise. The team announced on Tuesday that it will unveil its new logos and wordmarks featuring the Hornets name on Dec. 21 against the Utah Jazz.
The team announced it would take on the name of Charlotte’s first NBA franchise last summer. Last month, the team announced it would adopt teal and purple as its primary colors.
The Bobcats, much like their fans, are excited about the name change, according to President Fred Whitfield.
“Our fans were the driving force to bring back the Hornets name and we wanted to share this announcement with them,” he said. “ In addition to the logo unveil, we are excited to celebrate the first of our five Buzz City Nights. These nights will provide great opportunities to honor the rich history of Hornets basketball with our fans in unique ways.”
