North Carolina is a confusing basketball team. But they win big games.
The Tar Heels beat #1 Michigan State, Wednesday night, 79-65, thanks to a tremendously balanced effort, featuring five players in double figures.
Kennedy Meeks scored 15 points, off the bench, to lead the Heels, while Brice Johnson tallied 14. Nate Britt and Marcus Paige both had 13, and J.P. Tokoto had 12. James Michael McAdoo chipped in with 8 points and 4 rebounds.
The Heels jumped out to a 20-6 lead, in the first nine minutes, thanks to six points from Johnson. Michigan State came back to tie the game at 32 at the break, but the Heels again took a big lead, thanks to runs of 7-2 and 10-2.
Carolina has won two of their last four games. Their wins have come against #1 Michigan State and #3 Louisville, while their losses have come against Belmont - at home - and UAB.
