It was "upscale", then it was "TexMex" and now it has gone upscale again. The spot that was once Andrew Blair's and then El Camino is now known simply as "Southside". Charlotte food and lifestyle writer Sarah Crosland recently visited the newest version of the space shortly after they opened.
"We had great success with Andrew Blair's as an upscale lounge and we wanted to bring that back," said owner Andy Henson. "We're looking for a slightly older, upscale crowd, 25 and up, who want a nice place to relax and unwind on the weekends, and then we'll do private functions during the week."
Henson told Crosland he wants to get back to a chef driven menu of bar food. The chef driving the food is Cody Stewart. During a recent visit he made a couple of typical dishes from the menu. The first was a Greek flatbread, and the second was tequila and mango wings.
