Panthers To Be Tested Again on Monday Night Football

Posted: Updated:
Charlotte, NC - The Carolina Panthers have announced their legitimacy to the NFL. In Ron Rivera's words, they are "relevant". They matter in the NFL in 2013.

Now, if they want to stay among the upper echelon of the league, they have to earn it. Every week.

And this week, that task doesn't get any easier. The New England Patriots come to town this weekend, for a Monday Night Football clash between two of the top teams in the NFL.

The Panthers insist they are ready to remain relevant.

"I'm excited to get out there," Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy said Wednesday. "We're playing against, you know, former champions in a high level environment. You know, it's my first real Monday night game, and I feel like I'm gonna go out there and have a productive day, along with the rest of the d-line and the team."

Kickoff is Monday night at 8:20. The Panthers come in at 6-3. The Patriots are 7-2.
