Repo Record, a music store in Charlotte, had a grand opening today after being closed for eight years. The store originally opened in Plaza-Midwood in 1988. Store owner Jimmy Parker noticed the renewed popularity of vinyl records and decided to go back to what he loves, sharing his treasures with the community. The new location is 3325 Commonwealth Ave.

In honor of the 10th anniversary of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg public art ordinance, Mayor Patsy Kinsey released a video featuring community leaders discussing the importance of public art. Under the ordinance, adopted by the City and Mecklenburg County in 2003, 1 percent of eligible capital improvement funds are set aside for public art projects.
